Suggested Reading: 2 Kings 4:42-44

Dear NBRC Family & Friends,

Suffering and need are not unique to today’s world. They existed in the worlds of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, too.

It might be easy to read the story found in the above suggested reading and attribute the multiplication of food to Elisha. Of course, this miracle was the work of God and is a testimony of His power to bring about such abundance from so little. This testimony can also apply to stories of Jesus having fed crowds of people that numbered in the thousands (Matthew 14:13-21; Matthew 15:32-39).

In the eyes of Elisha, his resources of twenty loaves of barley and ears of grain might have seemed inadequate to feed a hundred people. But Elisha was a man of faith who trusted God and acted on the word of God.

Do you trust God enough to step out in faith, even if you feel inadequate for that to which He might call you? Do we as a church family?

At times we might feel as if we don’t have the resources to do what God asks us to do. Quite frankly, maybe we don’t. But what we can so easily forget is that little can become much in the hands of God.

God can accomplish much through even just one person and He can accomplish much through even just one church. Do you really believe that? I hope you do!

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21, NIV)

Prayer suggestion: As you pray, ask God to help you believe that He can work beyond your expectations.
